Norfolk artist, Karen Rowlands, has a BA Hons degree in woven textile design. Charlotte, her daughter, now works with her. In their studio at Alby Crafts you will find detailed oil paintings of a wide range of subjects by Karen and pastel and pencil drawings by Charlotte. Prints and cards of their work are also available. Taking up a large part of the studio is a George Wood 24 shaft dobby loom. On this Karen and Charlotte hand weave with a variety of yarns, fine pure silk, cotton, wool and textured mixed fibres. Each length woven is individually designed and hand woven for the items to be made. Charlotte also makes a range of hand woven bead jewellery.
